Six illegal workers including a Sri Lankan have been arrested by UK Border Agency officers during a raid on a Leicester clothing factory. Officers raided Reset Clothing on St Saviours Road and detained a 31-year-old Sri Lankan man and a 37-year-old Pakistani woman.

They also arrested three Indian men, aged 42, 46 and 48 and a 33-year-old Indian woman.

A Border Agency spokesman said action will be taken to arrange for the workers to be deported.

Three of the workers were identified as failed asylum seekers while two had overstayed their visit visas and one was an illegal entrant to the UK.

The business faces a fine of up to £60,000 unless it can prove that it carried out the correct pre-employment checks, BBC reports.
