TMVP to meet President on Thursday

The Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulihal (TMVP) is to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa tomorrow (Thursday May 19) for a special discussion, party spokesman Azad Maulana told Adaderana this evening.


The spokesman added that TMVP seniors had met in Batticaloa today to discuss certain issues facing the party. Following the meeting they had held a media briefing and announced the decision to meet the President.


Mr. Moulana said that the TMVP as a democratic political party was forging ahead in the region and that certain vested interests were attempting to throw obstacles in their path. Certain incidents too were proof of this. To clarify issues the seniors had decide to request a meeting with the President, he also said.
