The Inter-University Student Federation (IUSF) has decided to file a fundamental rights petition to the Supreme Court against the leadership training programme organized by the government at military camps around the island for new University students.
Convenor of the IUSF, Sanjeewa Bandara told Ada Derana that the government is attempting to force students to take part in military training, stating that it is illegal and a violation of the students’ fundamental rights.
He also asked the public to voice their disapproval of the government’s attempted training programme for students.
