The NCPA has commenced an inquiry into a possible attempt to send a group of 13 Sri Lankan children on a foreign tour, without following proper procedure. A female foreign national is suspected to be involved in the incident, according to NCPA Chairperson, Anoma Dissanayake.
Investigations so far have revealed that proper procedures have not been followed in regard to sending the children, from a tsunami village in the island, on the trip to a foreign country, she said.
Anoma Dissanayake further stated that several instances of child abuse have taken place by taking children from one country to another without the proper consent from parents and not following procedures.
She further emphasized that the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) is firmly investigating the matter presently.
