Weightlifter Vidanage tests positive for banned substance

Lankan Weightlifter Chinthana Vidanage has been accused of taking a banned substance at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in China. The weightlifter had failed to win a medal at the said games as he was placed fourth but was tested for drugs as part of the routine procedure.


 

Dr. Geethanjana Mendis of the sports medical unit at the Ministry said that his urine sample tests in China have returned positive for a banned substance.
