Parliamentarian Rosy Senanayake insists she did not enter politics to serve Ranil, Karu, Sajith or Gamini Jayawickrama. I only entered into politics to serve the United National Party and the people of this country, she expressed.
Speaking to media outside the Gangodawila Magistrate Court complex today (May 23) the UNP Colombo District MP said she will not allow anyone to act in a manner that would breach the party constitution.
If Sajith Premadasa violates the UNP constitution in any future day, I am prepared to take a stand against him, Rosy Senanayake said “No one will be allowed to treat the United National Party as their private property.”
She mentioned that she had arrived in court today in order to perform her duty on behalf of fellow party members.
‘The masks are now off’
Meanwhile, MP Ravi Karunanayake also speaking to reporters outside the Gangodawila Magistrate Court said, the present government is still in power due to the disunity within the UNP.
“It is saddening to see a group within the party itself taking legal action against the party’s leadership, when we were preparing to file a case against the government regarding the burning problems of the masses.”
Karunanayake, the newly appointed National Organiser of the UNP, further said that it is evident through these actions that those who had so far hidden their faces behind masks have now taken them off and are dancing in public.
It has now been established as to how hypocritical and politically jealous the band, which attempted to eat milkrice on April 12, actually is, he accused.
