Lowland areas flooded due to heavy rain - DMC

Several lowland areas have been flooded due to the heavy rain currently affecting the several parts of the island. The water levels of the Kalu Ganga, Kelani Ganga, Nilwala Ganga and Ging Ganga are continuing to rise, the Disaster Management Center said.
Meanwhile the Batagaldeniya Road in Kotiyakumbura, Kegalle is under water and over 20 houses in the area have suffered damages due to the flood, the Center added.
According to Galle District Disaster Management Centre Coordinator, Lt. Col. Asitha Ranasinghe floods have also been reported at Hiniduma and Thawalama in the Galle District.
