One killed in bus-lorry collision at Arachchikattuwa

One person was killed and another hospitalized following a accident in the Arachchikattuwa area along the Puththalam-Chilaw main road. The accident had occurred in the early hours today (May 30) when a private bus collided with a lorry.


The deceased is reported to be the driver of the lorry, transporting fish at the time, while the private bus had been traveling from Tangalle to Mullaitivu, police revealed.


The injured is currently receiving treatment at the Chilaw Hospital, according to hospital sources.


Chilaw Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
