Private pension scheme not applicable to FTZ workers - Minister

Due to various requests made by MPs and trade union activists the private sector pension scheme will not be applicable to the Free Trade Zone employees, the Labour Minister Gamini Lokuge said today. Police earlier fired teargas to disperse a protest organized by several Katunayake Free Trade Zone workers against the proposed private pension bill.
