Bodies recovered from capsized boat

Kalavanchikudi Police has recovered the bodies of the 5 individuals who had drowned after their boat capsized in the sea area close to the Kottai Kallaru Lagoon. The bodies have been returned to relatives following postmortem examinations conducted at the Kalavanchikudi Hospital.


According to Ada Derana correspondent, a 3-year-old is also amongst the deceased from the boat accident which had occurred at around 7.30pm last night.  


While a total of 11 persons had been onboard the overcrowded boat at the time, 06 were rescued and admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital.
