More private bus operators join strike

Private buses operating the bus routes 127, 255 and 117 have also joined in on the strike initiated by Panadura private bus operators, Gemunu Wijeratne President of the Private Bus Owners’ Association said.


Therefore private buses traveling from Nugegoda-Ratmalana (117), Kottawa- Mount Lavinia (255) and Piliyandala-Moragahahena (127) have participated in the strike protest launched following the assault of a private bus operator allegedly by two employees of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).


Bus operators on the 154, 176 and 163 routes had joined the strike yesterday (June 03) while all buses operating on Galle Road also joined the protest today morning.
