Police raid ganja cultivation within forest reserve

The Anti-Vice Squad of Tangalle Police Division arrested one suspect following a raid on large scale ganja cultivation within the Willagala forest reserve in Sooriyawewa.


The ganja cultivation was spread across 2 acres of land within the reserve and consisted mainly of plants 6 foot tall, police said.


The apprehended suspect, a resident of the same area, is to be presented to the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court today (June 05).
