TNA Parliamentarian E. Saravanabhavan says he had received death threats through the phone yesterday (June 06) demanding that he leave the country within two days. The MP claims to have received the anonymous call at 9.25pm last night.
The Jaffna District MP said he was abused in filth by an individual speaking in Tamil dialect and was issued a warning to leave the country within two days, otherwise he would “face there maximum penalty” which is “death penalty”.
Speaking exclusively to Ada Derana Mr. Saravanabhavan revealed that he contacted the OIC of the Jaffna Police and upon his request had sent a letter detailing the incident to the OIC by midnight,
“I strongly suspect that it may be the work of the political opponents who had been involved in this type of undemocratic threatening, killings, etc. for the last number of years.” he further added.
