UNP MP Jayalath Jayawardene stated that the BOI has thus far failed to grant the compensation of rupees one million to the family of Roshan Chanaka who succumbed to his injuries following the clash which occurred between FTZ workers and the police last Monday.

At a media briefing held in Colombo today (06) Jayawardene stated that such statements should not be made with merely a political advantage in mind.

He further alleged that the funeral service of Roshan Chanaka was also held amidst severe military control and that there were nearly 56 armed military persons present at the Church premises.
