20 schools in Anuradhapura closed till June 17

The Provincial Education Ministry has decided to close down 20 schools in the Anuradhapura education zone from today (June 10) to June 17.


The schools will be closed in order to provide accommodation to the security forces personnel arriving to provide security to Anuradhapura and Mihintale areas during the Poson Festival.


Extra sessions will be held in future dates to cover-up for the lessons lost, the Ministry further stated.


The schools being closed are: Zahira Muslim MV, Vivekananda MV, Mahinda MV, Deepani MV, Anuradhapura Central College, Walisinghe Harishchandra MV, Swarnapali Balika MV, St. Joseph’s M.V, Niwatthaka Chethiya MV, D. S. Senanayake KV, K. B. Ratnayake MV, Mihintale MV, Mihintale KV, Kamalakkulama College, Kurundankulama College, Maha Bodi College, Devanampiyatissa MV, Tantirimale MV, Perimiyankulam MV and Pothanegama MV.
