LTTE suspect to be kept in custody for 90 days

A suspect who was arrested in Jaffna over a possible threat on national security was ordered to be kept in remand for further questioning by the Colombo Magistrates Court.
The suspect was arrested on the Jaffna Court road by a special police team on the grounds of information provided by other suspects in remand. It was revealed that the suspect had allegedly helped the LTTE transport explosive materials into Colombo during the war.
The Magistrate granted the police a period of 90 days to hold the suspect for further questioning.
