Liquor shops closed for 7 days in Anuradhapura

The Department of Excise has ordered all taverns and liquor shops in the Anuradhapura District to remain closed for seven (07) days in light of the forthcoming Poson Festival. Therefore liquor shops in the area will be closed from today (12) to June 18, the Department stated.


Meanwhile liquor shops within the Tissamaharama Divisional Secretariat division have been ordered closed for 03 days from June 14.


All taverns and liquor shops across the island will also be closed and the sale of liquor will banned on Poson Poya Day (15), as directed by the Excise Department.
