Aspirations Education to launch Postgraduate Opportunity Hub

21st June 2011, Colombo – Sri Lanka: Aspirations Education (AE) an international career guidance and student placement service center in Sri Lanka announced that it has partnered with premier universities in Australia, UK, New Zealand and Malaysia with the objective of providing access and opportunity for Sri Lankan students who wish to pursue a Postgraduate research programme. Themed “The Forward March”, this year’s exhibition will be hosted from the 9th and 10th July at Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo and the 12th July at Queen’s Hotel, Kandy.
The exhibition will showcase the launch of the Aspirations Postgraduate Opportunity Hub an online site creating a platform for postgraduate students to interact directly with academics in selecting the course of study. Another attraction will be the video conference sessions and webinars using cutting edge technology to connect with the academics overseas. Students can now reach their preferred study area and connect with the academics through logging on to www.aspirations.edu.lk/postgraduate
Ms. Deepamala Abeysekera, General Manager Aspirations Education elaborating further, “Students who have completed an undergraduate degree assume that they are able to get a placement in a reputed university at the postgraduate research level. This clearly is not the case. They need direction and assistance in selecting a research area, processing their postgraduate applications. Furthermore It is important to submit the research proposal properly in order to gain admission to the university and to secure funding from the university or a scholarship awarding body. Therefore students need to have proper guidance in processing the PhD/ Masters by Research applications; this is where Aspirations comes to the rescue”.
The programme is aimed at students who are presently pursuing undergraduate studies in the final year, recent graduates, professionals who are considering entering academia and staff in local universities who wish to obtain a postgraduate qualification.
According to Mr. Nadeen Kumarasinghe, Senior Manager Strategic Planning and Business Development of Aspirations Education, “Aspirations Education has guided PhD students and some of them have secured full scholarships in the partnered universities”.

Approved and authorized by the Australian High Commission to assess and issue Pre Visa Assessments (PVA), Aspirations Education is registered in the UCAS customer database and is permitted to process the application via UCAS. The center has been trained and certified as a Singapore Education Specialist by Government owned Singapore Education.
