Right to Information bill defeated at Parliament

The Right to Information bill was defeated with a majority of 63 votes in Parliament a short while ago with 34 voting for and 97 voting against it. UNP co-deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya presented the bill at Parliament today which was opposed by the government from the outset.
