Ministers and Dep. Ministers told to declare their assets ‎

High-ranking government officials should submit their Statements of Assets and Liabilities to there relevant heads before June 30. The Bribery and Corruption Commission states that Ministers and Deputy Ministers also have to declare their assets and liabilities before the given date.


The Commission emphasized that legal action will be taken against those evading by not submitting the significant information before the final date and also pointed out that purposely withholding information and providing false information are punishable offences.


The Declaration of Assets and Liabilities (Amendment) Act (No. 74 of 1988) states which officials should declare their assets and liabilities.
