The restrictions imposed on Northern fishermen which required them to obtain passes for fishing were from lifted today (July 9), the Fisheries Minister, Rajitha Senarathne said in Jaffna.

Obtaining of a special permit had been mandatory for fishermen engaging in fishing activities in the Northern Sea, due to security reasons following the conclusion of the war.
