Roads closed due to Esala Perahera

Several roads including parts of the Kaduwela-Colpetty road and the Avissawella-Colombo road will be closed in view of the Esala Perahera organized by the Kaduwela Kotalawala Temple today (July 13) scheduled to begin at 10.30pm.

 

The perahera will begin on the 177 Kaduwela-Colpetty road and will head towards Kotalawala while the procession will turn from Rajasingha Mawatha onto the 143 Avissawella-Colombo road and proceed to the Kaduwela roundabout before returning to the temple.

 

Police stated that these roads will be closed from 10.30pm today until the perahera ends.

 

Alternate routes –

Vehicles travelling from Malabe to Kaduwela may turn from Vihara Mawatha and use the Avissawella-Colombo road. Those travelling from Kaduwela to Malabe or Colombo may also use Vihara Mawatha to get onto the 177 route.
