Police constable arrested for robbery

A Police constable from Karuwelagaswewa was arrested last night (July 13) over allegations of attempted robbery at a bank, Police stated.

The police officer had attempted to pose as another constable after stealing his bank book but upon questioning had left the bank.

Upon investigation police had discovered that the suspect had stolen money on several previous occasions.
