The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has expressed its disapproval of the decision made by the Director of Health in the Western Province to allow practical training for students of the Malabe Private Medical Faculty at the Homagama Government Hospital.

Secretary of the GMOA, Dr. Chandika Epitakaduwa stated that the Director of Health had notified the Homagama Hospital Director of his decision while adding that the GMOA strongly opposed the decision to let a private faculty use state resources.

He further stated that steps were been taken to inform the Health Minister about the decision and its implications.
