The All-island Samurdhi Officers have stated that they will resort to stern union action if their demands are not met with an immediate response.

Samurdhi officers claim that the promises made to them regarding pensions for all their employees have not been fulfilled yet.

Union President, N.A. Abeysinghe stated that there was also a conspiracy to dissolve the Samurdhi scheme altogether which he claimed would put the funds amounting to Rs.16,000 million in Samurdhi banks at risk.
