UPDATE: 3 killed and 18 injured in bus collision

Three persons were killed while 18 were injured in Kiribathkumbura, Peradeniya when two buses collided on the Kandy-Colombo main road today (July 16), Police stated.
The head-on collision had reportedly occurred between a bus transporting garment-factory workers from Hemmathagama and a passenger bus traveling to Colombo from Matale.
Two females were amongst the deceased while the wounded have been admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, Police said.
