President arrives in Jaffna

President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Jaffna a short while ago and is scheduled to meet with the public and commence more development projects in the area. He will also visit the former rebel stronghold Kilinochchi in the Northern Province today (July 18).
The President, accompanied by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and several other Ministers, will declare open the new two-story building of Kopai School, Pooneryn Hospital and will lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Kilinochchi Trade Center.
Construction work to build an international level sports complex in Kilinochchi at a cost of Rs. 360 million is also expected to be launched by the President, according to the Government Information Department.
