Seven year old bound with chain; woman arrested

A 42 year old woman was arrested from Puttalam after a seven year old boy was discovered in her house bound by a chain. Police stated that the arrest was made after a tip-off that a schoolboy was seen shackled at the suspect’s house was received.
Upon investigation it was revealed that the woman was the boy’s aunt, police said. The woman after being arrested had claimed that the boy had sneaked into her house to skip school and that she had bound him with a chain to discipline him.
