Controversial British Channel 4 has released another video which it claims could be prima facie evidence of possible war crimes in Sri Lanka. In the programme C4 interviews two individuals one of whom claims to be soldiers and both eye witnesses of the final stage of the war.
The video shows blurred images of the two ‘eye witnesses’ named ‘Fernando’ and ‘Sasrutha’ purportedly to conceal their identity narrate what they saw were war crimes during the final stage of the war. They claims that an order to ‘finish it off’ came from the top implying the involvement of high ranking defence and civil heads.
The programme ends with the speech made by former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga especially highlighting the comment made by her that she received a call from her 28 year old son sobbing saying how ashamed he was to call himself a Sinhalese and a Lankan, after he saw the 50-minute Channel 4 documentary
