Hangwella OIC suspended over bribery allegations

The Police OIC of the Hangwella Police station was suspended from his duties due to ongoing investigations regarding several allegations made against him.

 

It is reported that the OIC in question was alleged to have attempted to take a Rs.3.5 million bribe to secure the release of an arrested drug-dealer.

 

The OIC has been sent to the Colombo Field Force Headquarters, Police Media Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody stated.
