Special leave for Muslim employees during Ramazan

The government has decided a special leave facility offered to the Muslim employees of the government sector to pursue their religious observances, during the period of Ramazan.

Therefore special leave will be granted to Muslim employees during daily prayer times 3.30-6.00am, 3.15-4.15pm, 6.00-7.00pm and 7.30-10.30pm from August 1-31.

The Ministry of Labour and Labour Relations accordingly requests Employers to grant the same facility to the Private Sector as well.

The Private Sector is kindly requested to also grant special holiday on the Day of Ramazan, paying of festival or salary advances, 14 days prior to the expiry of Ramazan period, a Ministry release read.
