Teacher interdicted on drunkenness charges

A teacher of a girl’s college in the Matale area has been interdicted for indecent behavior after consuming liquor. The teacher in question had reportedly arrived at the Matale Zonal Education office drunk and yelled at the officers.
The officers had subsequently complained to the Director of National Schools who in return ordered that the teacher be interdicted.
It is said that the teacher had previously been transferred for an incident with a school principal.
