August 4, 2011   10:38 am

If the government does not provide solutions to the several problems faced by the workers of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) within the next few days, they will be forced to go on strike, the Vidhuli Sevaka Sangamaya (VSS) stated.

General Secretary of the VSS, Ranjan Jayalal stated that yesterday’s (August 3) token strike was a great success adding that if the workers resort to a full-scale strike it will have terrible consequences.

He stated that the government will have until next Wednesday (August 10) to pay salary arrears to the CEB workers.
