DPF to contest LG polls, backed by TNA?

The Democratic Peoples Front (DPF) says it intends to contest in the upcoming election in several Local Government bodies including the Colombo Municipal Council and Dehiwala-Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council.
DPF Leader Mano Ganesan said that the party would arrive at a final conclusion on the matter this Saturday (August 13).
Meanwhile the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has decided to contest the Kalmunai Municipal Council election in the Ampara District, according to party spokesperson Suresh Premachandran.
He also revealed that they intend to discuss in the near future the possibility of TNA backing the Mano Ganesan led DPF in elections for LG bodies in districts other than the Ampara District.
