Prepared to make more sacrifices – Grero

UNP Parliamentarian Mohan Lal Grero today said he is prepared to make more sacrifices if his request, to keep the mayoral candidate open for Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, is not honored by the leadership by Tuesday.
Making a special statement today (August 27) at a media briefing he said that former Mayor Mrs. Sunethra Ranasinghe has been appointed as the Mayoral candidate for the Dehiwala – Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council by Ranil Wickramasinghe.
The Colombo District MP stated he has requested the UNP leader to keep the mayoral candidate open for the said LG body and to appoint the candidate with the highest number of preference votes as the mayor.
Grero, the owner of a popular private educational institution, said the party leader has still not responded to his request and that he has been given till 12 noon on Tuesday (August 30) to honor the request.
If Wickramasinghe fails to revere his decision before the given date appropriate action will be taken, which will be informed in the in the future, he emphasized adding that he is prepared to make more sacrifices for that purpose.
