Fight for party not for posts, urges Tissa

The mayoral candidate for the Dehiwala-Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council was named following discussions in the UNP’s national nominations board, says MP Tissa Attanayake. The UNP General Secretary said a request had been received to not name anyone and keep the mayoral candidate open.
However, after attention was given to all facts and information the party decided to that former Mayor Mrs. Sunethra Ranasinghe should be named once again, he told Ada Derana when inquired regarding MP Mohan Lal Grero’s appeal.
Nevertheless an issue has risen regarding the matter and certain settlement can be reached through further discussion, he pointed out.
Attanayake added that what should be done now is not fight over the post but to fight for the party.
