Govt. disgracing prestige of medical profession - IUSF

September 4, 2011   11:45 am

The Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) today condemned the legal consent given to the private medical college in Malabe, to award Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees, by the Higher Education Ministry through a special gazette notification calling it a violation of the country’s free education right.

The IUSF termed the move as a senseless act which disgraces medical education in the country as well as the prestige of the medical profession.

In a release issued today the federation also claimed that the government has misused the power provided to them by the people.
