3,303 of 23,287 disabled soldiers provided homes

Approximately 3,303 disabled soldiers out of the total 23,287 soldiers injured during the war in the country have been provided homes by the government, Chief Government Whip and Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, Dinesh Gunawardena proclaimed today.

The Minister made these remarks when inquired By UNP Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara as to how many disabled soldiers have been provided with houses thus far.

According to the Minister the aforementioned total of disabled soldiers include 21,327 army personnel, 430 navy personnel, 234 air force personnel and 1,296 police officers.
