Navy arrests 44 Lankans in Eastern seas

Forty four Sri Lankans were arrested by the Navy this morning (September 11) in the Eastern Seas while trying to sail to Australia illegally, the Navy Commander Vice Admiral D.W.S. Dissanayake stated.
The group, including one female and two children, were taken into navy custody at the Kalmunai marine border after they had set sail from Negombo, he told Ada Derana.
The apprehended individuals are currently being escorted to the Trincomalee harbor in 3 vessels.
