Blake arrives in Sri Lanka

Robert Blake, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia arrived in Sri Lanka this morning, BIA officials told Ada Derana. In Sri Lanka, he intends to meet with government officials, civil society representatives, university students, and political leaders.
He is scheduled to meet TNA Parliamentary Group leader, R. Sambandan today. Blake, an erstwhile US Ambassador to Sri Lanka from 2006 to 2009, is to discuss the current political situation in Sri Lanka amongst various other issues with the TNA Trincomalee District Parliamentarian when the pair meets at the Hilton Colombo, the TNA said in a release last week.
Robert Blake was initially set to arrive in the island for a three day official visit on August 29 however was postponed to September 12.
