Johnston vows to quit if importing of substandard cement is proven

If anyone can prove that substandard cement was imported I will resign from my post within 24 hours, the Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando stated.
He said that the likes of UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera and JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake were accusing him of importing substandard cement while adding that they should stop wasting time with accusations and prove that these claims are true.
Minister Fernando claimed that the Sri Lanka Standards Institute was engaged in a conspiracy with the cement companies to increase prices of cement every year.
