CBK in New York for the Clinton Global Initiative

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga is in New York for the Seventh Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative. This year’s meeting is being held from Sept 20-22 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers.
Sri Lanka’s former Head of State has been attending CGI’s annual sessions since 2006, and is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Poverty Alleviation Group of the Clinton Global Initiative.
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) is one of the world’s largest International bodies engaged in action for Political, Social and Economic Development in the third world countries. It is an initiative of the Clinton Foundation. The present focus of the CGI is in the sectors of Education, Health, Poverty Alleviation and Climate Change.
