Suspend animal sacrifice at Udakkuwa Kali kovil: court orders

Puttalam Additional District Judge I.B. Ilangasinghe has issued an order suspending the annual rituals of animal sacrifice to be held tomorrow (September 23) at the Aarachchikattuwa, Udakkuwa Kali Amman Kovil.
The Judge gave the order after examining a report submitted in court by the Mundalama Police which stated that if the ritual is performed it would create a tense situation in the are.
On September 13 the Chilaw Additional District Judge R.M. Jayawardana issued an order temporarily suspending the annual rituals of animal sacrifice at the Sri Bhadra Kali Amman Kovil in Munneswaram, Chilaw.
