President’s Fund spends Rs.2757.8m in 3 years

A sum of Rs.2757.8 million has been spent under the President’s Fund, within the past three years, to provide relief and financial assistance, it was disclosed in Parliament today (Sep. 23).

This was reveal by Chief Government Whip and Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, Dinesh Gunawardena in response to a query by Democratic National Alliance (DNA) MP Sunil Handunnetti.

Accordingly Rs. 884.3 million was spent in the year 2008, Rs. 1028.3 in 2009 and another Rs. 845.2 million was provided as relief in 2010 under the fund, the Minister informed.
