“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” - Apple Inc.
Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple passed away today at the age of 56. Even though I have never met the man, his work has had a large impact on my life and will continue to do so for many years to come probably. Android (my current OS in use), Windows Phone 7, Windows 8 and many products coming out from many of the biggest tech corps in the world are in some way results of how Steve Jobs chose to shape Apple. His work is a reminder to all of us just how much can be done when one chooses to go against the rest of the world to follow what one loves.
Steve Jobs may have passed away but his legacy lives on. He passed away one day after the man he chose to take over the company came to take the stage instead of him for the first time. He passed away to finally escape the pains of his illness. And he passed away having changed the world.
Michael Arrington, founder of Techcrunch and now head of his own VC fund “Crunch Fund” summed it all up in one sentence.
“You lived. You really, really lived.”
