We have not even dreamt about creating a nude beach in Sri Lanka, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said in parliament today. He completely denied rumours that the government was planning to establish a nude beach in the Kalutara Calido beach strip.

Lakshman Yapa said this is response to a question raised in parliament by UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara. Jayasekara claimed that he has proof that the government had already undertaken a feasibility study to create a nude beach in Kalutara. He claimed that he had details of the project and also revealed the name of the purported project director.

However Lakshman Yapa in reply completely denied the claim and added that the Government had no such plan whatsoever.
