A tense situation has been reported in front of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development at Maligawatta, Colombo as stones are pelted during a protest staged by over 500 fishermen. It has been reported that stones and other objects were thrown at the crowd gathered outside the ministry building, protesting against an issue regarding the distribution of fisheries equipment.
