
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today claimed that three of their election offices in Padiyathalawa, Ampara have been set ablaze by an armed group last night.
A group of unknown men armed with weapons had set fire to the offices, used for election campaigning, at around 11.30pm last night, the party said in a release. It said that a complaint has been filed with the Padiyathalawa Police.
The police spokesman’s office, when contacted by Ada Derana, confirmed that they have received a complaint regarding the incident.
