Scene of the attack…

The scene of the axe attack on President Maithripala Sirisena’s brother Priyantha Sirisena, also known as “Weli Raju.” He was seriously injured in the attack which took place in Hathare Ela, Bendiwewa. Don Ishara Lakmal Saputhanthri, the suspect who is believed to have carried out the attack surrendered to Bakamuna Police last night. (Pic by: Gamini Obeysekera)
