Special traffic plan for V-Day tomorrow

A special traffic plan will be implemented within the city of Colombo tomorrow (May 18) in view of the Victory Day Parade taking place from the Galle Face Green, marking the 4th Anniversary of the end of Eelam War against terrorists.

Police said the special traffic plan will come into effect from 5.00am until the end of the celebrations tomorrow (Saturday).

Buses and light vehicles leaving Colombo along the Galle Road can travel via Olcott Mawatha, Technical junction, Maradana Bridge Junction, T. B. Jayah Mawatha, Ibbanwala Junction, Dharmapala Mawatha, Nelum Pokuna Roundabout, Independence Avenue, Reed Avenue, Tunmulla Roundabout, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, R.A. De Mel Mawatha, Duplication Dickman Junction, travel along Dickman’s Road and turn left.

Buses and light vehicles entering Colombo along the Galle Road can turn right from Bagathale Junction on Galle Road and via Bauddhaloka Mawatha, turn right from R.A. De Mel Mawatha, Thunmulla Roundabout, Thurstan Road, Glasshouse Junction, Nelum Pokuna Roundabout, Dean’s Road, turn left from Siemens Junction and travel though Maradana Bridge Junction to reach Sinor Junction.

As an alternate route for heavy vehicles entering Colombo via Galle Road they can travel through W.A. Silva Mawatha, Old Havelock Road, turn left from ‘Maskadaya’ Junction and through Maya Roundabout, Havelock Road, Park Road turn left from Baseline Road Junction and enter Colombo.
